Structure

The Executive Committee is composed of nine members, elected by the members of the Council. Among those nine members two – the Chairman and the Treasurer – are separately elected by the Council members. Elected Chairman appoints, subject to the approval of the Council, the Vice-Chairman and the Secretary.

The Chairman Trân-Thi-Kim-Diêu

Trân-Thi-Kim-Diêu was born in 1949. She is a member of TS France since 1972. She is a post-graduate in Pharmaceutical Technology. She became interested in philosophy and religion in her teens and has studied most of main Eastern philosophies and great religions in parallel with scientific approach.

She travels widely to encourage cooperation and promulgate the teachings as well as to share experience in service of the TS. Her main concern is to promote a new way of living where each human life can be guided by universal ethics and the mystic dimension of consciousness.

Treasurer Rimo Lõiv

Rimo Lõiv was born in 1977 in Estonia. He is structural engineer.

He has been interested in finding the true purpose and hidden meaning of life since teenage, but wasn't satisfied with different philosophical and religious views, which created more questions than gave true answers. In 2000, he found theosophy and in 2002 he became member of the H.P.B. Lodge in Tallinn, Estonia. In 2007, he became the President of the lodge.

He has been interested in eastern philosophy, mainly Buddhism, but he has also tried to find understanding from some western philosophers, and also from the Bible.

Vice-Chairman Ana Maria Torra

IAna Maria Torra was born in 1948 in Barcelona, in a theosophical family. She has two MBAs, in Classical languages and also in English. She was a teacher of English for 40 years.

She has translated numerous theosophical books and lectures. She has also interpreted many International lecturers visiting Spain. Presently, she is the Editor of the bi-monthly magazine Sophia. Her theosophical activity is a karma-yogic one. Her life is committed to Service, she is dedicated to all those who are in need.

She has been a member of the Executive of the Spanish Section for the last nine years.

Her main interest is being helpful to anyone who comes across her path.

Secretary Krista Umbjärv

Krista Umbjarv, Estonian citizen, was born in 1986. In 2005, she joined the Theosophical Society.

Having a Bachelor of Estonian Philology, she is pursuing a Master of Translation. Krista has been working as a language editor for a newspaper and as a freelance translator.

She has been active in H.P.B. Lodge in Tallinn since joining the Society. She is in the board of the lodge and has been Vice-President of the lodge and also lodge librarian. Krista has translated and edited several  theosophical books. Coopted to the EFTS Executive Committee in 2012 and elected to be a member of the same Executive in 2013. She has been serving as the Secretary of the EFTS since 2013.

Other Executive Committee members

Marja Artamaa was born in 1952 in Helsinki. She joined the Theosophical Society in Finland in 1978 and has served in several tasks for the Finnish Section, including editorial work and organizing events. In 2007 she was elected General Secretary, which position she still holds.

Marja was a member of the Council of the Naarden International Theosophical Centre (ITC) from 1995 until 2009. Since 1989 she has worked in the Executive Committee of the EFTS, holding the task of Treasurer since 1998.

Marja thinks that every task there is for theosophy, is a chance to serve and to learn more.

Irena P. Kristan, born in 1939, studied and worked as a teacher in Slovenia and Austria. She joined the TS in Slovenia in 1992, served as Head of the Adyar Lodge in Ljubljana and  then as Organizing Secretary of the Regional Association in Slovenia, edited the TS magazine Teozofska misel (The Theosophical Thought), translated into Slovenian many of short theosophical texts and some books. In 2004 she was elected member to the EFTS, serving as Secretary from 2010–2013 and Vice-Chairman from 2013–2016. She helped to organize the work of the EFTS in Slovenia (i.e. visits by EFTS Chairman Trân-Thi-Kim-Diêu).

Patrizia Moschin Calvi was born in 1962. She joined the Theosophical Society in Italy at the age of 20 and soon became an active member in the Group of Vicenza. Since 1995 she has been working as a full-time volunteer in the Italian General Secretariat. Since 2004 she has been the President of the Theosophical Group of Vicenza; she is also a member of the Council and of the Executive Committee of the Theosophical Society in Italy.

Currently she is in charge of the editorial staff of the Rivista Italiana di Teosofia and a member of the Editorial Committee of the Italian Theosophical Publishing House, in 2004 she was elected to be a member of the Executive Committee of the EFTS.

Recently she was appointed to be a Council member of the International Theosophical Centre in Naarden.

Els Rijneker was born in 1954. She is a speech therapist and has a clinic in Amsterdam for people with dyslexia, reading and writing problems. She is a member of the TS since 1998. In 2000 Els became an editor of the TS Holland magazine Theosofia, since 2004 she has been working as its chief editor.

In 2002 Els was elected to be a member of the Dutch national board and in 2009 she became the  General Secretary of the Dutch Section (TVN). She has organized many theosophical activities for the Dutch Section and has been a co-organizer of theosophical activities for the International Theosophical Centre (ITC) in Naarden, the Netherlands.

Els has given talks on several occasions and has visited theosophical meetings in Adyar, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, United Kingdom, Portugal and Spain.

Sabine Van Osta was born in 1968 in Belgium. She joined the Theosophical Society in 2001 and has been an active member of the TS ever since, holding various positions within the Belgian Section since 2004, as General Secretary of that Section since 2013. Apart from the organisational work, she also gives lectures, animates study groups in Belgium and the Netherlands on core theosophical themes in Dutch, French and English, translates and writes articles for various theosophical publications. She travels regularly to attend congresses in Europe and at the International Headquarters of the TS in Adyar.
