Structure

The Executive Committee is composed of nine members, elected by the members of the Council. Among those nine members two – the Chairman and the Treasurer – are separately elected by the Council members. Elected Chairman appoints, subject to the approval of the Council, the Vice-Chairman and the Secretary.

The Chairman Sabine Van Osta

Sabine Van Ostawas born in 1968 in Belgium. She joined the Theosophical Society in 2001 and has been an active member of the TS ever since, holding various positions within the Belgian Section since 2004, as General Secretary of that Section since 2013. Apart from the organisational work, she also gives lectures, animates study groups in Belgium and the Netherlands on core theosophical themes in Dutch, French and English, translates and writes articles for various theosophical publications. She travels regularly to attend congresses in Europe and at the International Headquarters of the TS in Adyar.

Treasurer Rimo Lõiv

Rimo Lõiv was born in 1977 in Estonia. He is structural engineer.

He has been interested in finding the true purpose and hidden meaning of life since teenage, but wasn't satisfied with different philosophical and religious views, which created more questions than gave true answers. In 2000, he found theosophy and in 2002 he became member of the H.P.B. Lodge in Tallinn, Estonia. In 2007, he became the President of the lodge.

He has been interested in eastern philosophy, mainly Buddhism, but he has also tried to find understanding from some western philosophers, and also from the Bible.

The Vice-Chairman Trân-Thi-Kim-Diêu

Trân-Thi-Kim-Diêu was born in 1949. She is a member of TS France since 1972. She is a post-graduate in Pharmaceutical Technology. She became interested in philosophy and religion in her teens and has studied most of main Eastern philosophies and great religions in parallel with scientific approach.

She travels widely to encourage cooperation and promulgate the teachings as well as to share experience in service of the TS. Her main concern is to promote a new way of living where each human life can be guided by universal ethics and the mystic dimension of consciousness.

Secretary Krista Umbjärv

Krista Umbjarv, Estonian citizen, was born in 1986. In 2005, she joined the Theosophical Society and soon became active in the HPB Lodge in Tallinn, Estonia, where she fulfilled mainly the responsibility of the Librarian.

Since 2014, she has been a member of the French Section, where she works as a volunteer. She also works for the Editions Adyar, which, publishes theosophical books in the French language. Since 2012, she has been on the Executive Committee of the European Federation of the TS and currently serves as its Secretary. She is Vice-President of the TS in France. In 2019, she was elected to the Council of the ITC, Naarden, and in 2024 to the General Council of the international TS.

Other Executive Committee members

Patrizia Moschin Calvi was born in 1962. She joined the Theosophical Society in Italy at the age of 20 and soon became an active member in the Group of Vicenza. Since 1995 she has been working as a full-time volunteer in the Italian General Secretariat. Since 2004 she has been the President of the Theosophical Group of Vicenza; she is also a member of the Council and of the Executive Committee of the Theosophical Society in Italy.

Currently she is in charge of the editorial staff of the Rivista Italiana di Teosofia and a member of the Editorial Committee of the Italian Theosophical Publishing House, in 2004 she was elected to be a member of the Executive Committee of the EFTS.

Recently she was appointed to be a Council member of the International Theosophical Centre in Naarden.

Janne Vuononvirta was born in 1986. He is Medical Doctor, specialist in psychiatry and cognitive psychotherapist.

He is TS member since 2007, and General Secretary of TS in Finland from 2018 to 2022 and since 2024. He is originally from Northern Finland, now lives in Vantaa, in Helsinki Metropolitan Area.

Hobbies: Taekwon-Do, gym.

As a TS member Janne wishes to emphasize the transformation of theosophical knowledge into a living wisdom in daily life with courageous heart. His passion is to usemodern science to verify the ageless truths of Theosophy especially in the field of psychology.

Alfonso Bayona was born in 1956. He joined the Theosophical Society in 1997. He is now retired but used to work as bank clerk. He has a diploma of teacher in early childhood.

Since 2014, he is member of the Executive Committee of the Spanish Section and since 2022, he is the Secretary of the Section. He was member of the Organisation Team of 38th European Congress of the TS, in Barcelona, Spain, in 2017, and participated actively in creation of the Headquarters of the TS in Spain, in 2024.

He has been a seeker of answers about who he is, about the existence and the purpose of life, since he was 18 years old. He has been member of spiritual groups for personal improvement, has participated in the healing group work, and has been helping some
local groups to collect resources for various solidarity projects. His main concern is service.
